Hello. Describing in details.
I have Super Slim CECH-4208A OFW v4.50 with a still working soldered Cobra ODE. Since like an eternity I am searching for a way to acquire an officially signed 'sacred' act.dat, but was never successful, cause I did not find any info about whenever is it possible to get that file any other way than connecting to PSN; and whenever I was trying to connect to PSN it was unsuccessful.
So this time I tried out this PS3 Proxy Server v2.2 . Connecting to PSN gives 80010519 error code. In the app logs I can see that the app's file ps3-updatelist.txt is being successfully redirected to the appropriate call of the related file. Also, if to try to check for a firmware update - it will say that the firmware is up to date; another one check is when doing an internet connection check - it says that IP is set, internet is set and do NOT say that a new firmware version is available.
But there is more. After I tried out this app, now I have a problem of time reset. The issue, the symptoms are equal to the issue of the dead CMOS battery - deattaching a PS3 device from the electricity for about more(!) than 3-5minutes will lead that the system will ask for setting a time. Of course, after that happened, I disassembled my old PS3 device and replaced that battery. I checked the "dead" battery with a voltmeter - it gives 4.4V so it's still good, and the new one I replaced to gives 5.2V, so I can sure the case is not in the physical battery enpowering (unless some unimaginable cases like there is a short cut from the CMOS battery socket...).
The things I did after - switched off an XMB option in the network settings - automatic time set after a successful PSN connection; in XMB, reset the system settings to default (not the factory reset. And the info about my login/password was removed and I can't make it 'remembered' by the system); in Recovery Mode - filesystem errors check, filesystem reconstruction (sorry for the abstracted thermins, I have everything in Russian).
So, it is unknown what is causing this time resetting issue. Maybe there is a file created in HDD which appearance means that, for example I dunno, the time should be resetting until it will be successfully synchronized from internet/PSN. And, no offence, but the app's logs are poor... Did not went so far with the others though, like SKFU's proxy (could not solve how to set the things properly there, either how to write a proper ps3-updatelist.txt for bypassing the firmware version check, or how to redirect to it).
Any ideas?
I have an idea.
I also searched an information about what the people are reporting about the error "80710A06" which I see when I try to synchronize the time with the (PSN's ?) server through XMB. Since my console's firmware is 4.50, which is old enough, and there is an info that sony both changed the server and changed the certificates acceptance for those which consoles have.
So, due to that, I think it is correct to say that this app is working only on some PS3 FW versions, and I doubt that the developer will ever solve this certificates issue for the PS3 old firmwares. Looks like my PS3 will never succeed in PSN connection, unless I'll update it and will be using HFW...
...And actual purpose for that is just eventually be able to play PS2Classics...
