At this moment there is no way how user can automatically get the geographical position of himself.
Simplification of the task to find your latest GPS position would be appreciated. That would be much painless in terms of the UX to share your position by means of navigator.geolocation (namely Geolocation API) that is supposed to plot your location on a map.
As of latest versions of Chrome, the Geolocation API is working only on secure contexts (HTTPS)
Also, that should be working well on smartphone browsers, considering the fact that such devices have more accurate GPS.
