Beat types

Morphological

  • Normal
  • L Left bundle branch block beat
  • R Right bundle branch block beat
  • V Premature ventricular contraction
  • S supraventricular ectopic beat (S)
  • F Fusion beat

Placement

  • A atrial premature beat (looks normal, just earlier)
  • Escaped beat

Diagnosis

  • L:

    • In MITDB, have channels MLII and V1
    • QRS duration greater than 120 milliseconds
    • Absence of Q wave in leads I, V5 and V6
    • ST and T wave displacement opposite to the major deflection of the QRS complex
  • R: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_bundle_branch_block

    • Depol travels from left to right ventricle.
    • Use lead V1 or V6.
    • Rhythm originating above ventricles.
    • qrs duration > 100ms
  • V:

General Classification Features

  • Morphology. ie qrs width, wave directions?
  • Frequency information?
