Developer Notes

How to update an existing version

  • Visit the Release Notes. https://github.com/factorial-io/phabalicious/releases
  • Copy the link to phabalicious.phar. Eg. https://github.com/factorial-io/phabalicious/releases/download/3.8.0-beta.17/phabalicious.phar
  • On your local run brew create command with the link to the phar file that you had just copied. 
    $ brew create https://github.com/factorial-io/phabalicious/releases/download/3.8.0-beta.17/phabalicious.phar`
  • The above command would create a file and then show its content in your default editor
  • Note the file path in the outputs. It could be something like "/usr/local/Homebrew/Library/Taps/homebrew/homebrew-core/Formula/phabalicious.rb"
  • Copy the sha256 value from the above file and make sure to delete the file.
  • Update the sha256 for the relevant version specific *.rb file inside the Formula folder.
