Persist Link Hints during on-page "/" search

I would like to be able to quickly move through a page using the on-page search feature to find link hints to open. This would involve the ability to modify my search without Link Hints disappearing. The current behavior of entering on-page search is that it hides link hints. A secondary consideration is upon moving between on-page matches, if the window frame changes, Link Hints should refresh, remaining present and activatable. Otherwise if the window frame of the page is the same the existing Link Hints should persist. I suspect this is not an implemented feature. This can require a custom modifier or special leader key in order to target a Link Hint instead of the '/' search bar to prevent typing into it.

Is this possible?

Maybe the leader key could have a time out or be escaped without exiting search mode.
