Spent about two hours going around in circles like a cat chasing his tail, trying to get a basic internal link to be accepted. The docs state from now on internal links need to be written as references, because Hinode now uses a renderer to process links. So, what is a reference, even more mysterious, what is a relative reference, and why does the filename or path not work? From the review of the docs, it appeared as if references were the If every page on the site had a different name, then what would the point of relative references be? |

Ok, ok, ok... So all is answered in the land of me. Reviewed the Hugo Docs once again, and it combined with sleep, gave more clarity to the above posed question.

, becauseref
itself can be used to create both reference links and relative reference links. Whererelref
does not appear to serve any unique function other than creating solely relative reference links.
