USB to RS485 adapter on Virtual Box help

I'm new to HA so please don't assume anything, lol

I'm running my HA on a VM using Virtual Box on my laptop with windows 10.

I've got a USB to RS485 (CH340C) Trying to get HA to to see the USB, but failing.

I've added all the USB device filters to the VM setting

I haven't wired it to the inverter yet, but I thought HA would see it. How can I check HA can see the USB?

What does this mean (as seen in the output of 'ls /dev/ttyUSB*') where to I enter it
