20170424 Ontology Change Improvement Call
Date: April 24, 2017
Attendees: Marijane White, Graham Triggs, Muhammad Javed, Damaris Murry, Juliane Schneider, Dong-Joon (DJ) Lee, Christian Hauschke
Goals: Talk about todos
Marijane: Discussions after last call with ODG members about eagle-i and ROBOT, ODG member looking for eagle-i owl without NCBI taxo, Melissa Haendel believes all ontology building should migrate to ROBOT. This may affect some of last meeting's todos.
Maybe we can invite the ROBOT developers to talk to us about the tool.
Javed: Followed through on this todo: Comparing contents of ontology in the VIVO source code with the public vivo OWL file. Discovered entities that are not in the public OWL file!
Marijane: File theses as issues, perhaps?
Javed, Christian: Definitions page needed, everything in one place
Question: What about the eagle-i OWL file?
Julian was just asking her developers about eagle-i, figuring this out.
Todos:
- Schedule call with ROBOT developers
- Javed will compare eagle-i ontology with VIVO
- Differences between published ontologies and what's in public OWL file
- Create definitions page at VIVO Ontology wiki
- Create page to define workflows for changing the ontology
- Figure out how to build eagle-i application
