I spend most of my free time with volunteer work. I like to contribute to open-source projects and I also organize events around open source, for example, the monthly Hackergarten in Lucerne and the hack.commit.push event in Switzerland. Everybody can come there and together we contribute something to free and open source projects. The focus is on the common experience, the exchange, and of course the contribution.

In addition, I volunteer to help organize various developer conferences, like JavaLand, BaselOne, Voxxed Days Zurich, and the CH Open Workshop Days. In addition, I'm a member of the editorial board of the Java aktuell magazine and as an author, I also publish articles.

All these activities are honorary and I don't get any money for them. I do this because I think it's important and of course, it's a pleasure for me to be involved in the community in this way. But such a commitment does not only cost time, but it also costs money. For example, recurring costs for domains, hosting, certificates, and various services. All this I finance with my private money.

Of course, it is especially great if you can donate time and work on free and open source projects, too. But it's also great if you could support me with the costs. I promise that every cent will be invested in the free and open source projects and communities I work on!
