A Sytrus preset that emulates the NES soundchip's Pulse Channels
Sytrus features 11 tabs with various settings
But we're only going to cover a few for this patch
Most of this patch's functions (such as Volume Envelope, Pitch Modulation, and Pulse Width Modulation) can be controlled on the Main tab.
Here you can control the master volume and pitch:
Adjusting LFO will introduce pitch modulation (aka vibrato).
You can further adjust pitch modulation settings in the OP 1 tab
Use Main ADSR for volume envelope
The NES had two pulse channels with variable duty cycle, which changed the timbre of the voice.
Mod X controls duty cycle (12.5%, 25%, 50%, 75%)
For more granular control of various parameters, we can move onto the OP 1 tab
Under the OP 1 tab, there are several more adjustments you can make.
If you change too much here, this patch will stray from the classic NES bleeps and bloops very quickly.
Under the Pitch editor pannel, you can further adjust the pitch modulation settings.
I recommend sticking to Speed control in the bottom left corner, which will change how fast your vibrato will be.
In order to hear this change, you must adjust the LFO setting on the Main Tab
Under the Envelope tab, you can create pitch envelopes
The default ADSR points can yield some fun sound effects, but you can make even more cool things by creating your own custom envelopes.
