FineBuild can Configure the General Properties available in SSMS for the SQL Server Agent.
The SQL Agent General properties should be set as shown below.
The SQL Agent General Properties configuration relates to Process Id 5BE and is controlled by the parameters below:
SQL Version | Parameter | FULL Build | WORKSTATION Build | CLIENT Build |
---|---|---|---|---|
SQL2019 | /SetupSQLAgent: | Yes | Yes | N/A |
SQL2017 | /SetupSQLAgent: | Yes | Yes | N/A |

SQL2008 | /SetupSQLAgent: | Yes | Yes | N/A |

In order to maintain compatibility with older versions of SQL FineBuild, the parameter /ConfigSQLAgent: can also be used.
The following steps show what you would have to do for manual SQL Agent General Properties configuration. FineBuild does all of this work for you automatically.
-
Select the General tab
Set the following General properties:
Property Value Autostart SQL Server clear Autostart SQL Server Agent cear Automatic service restart using SQL Server Agent requires that the service account has local Administrators authority, which is not desired. Instead, automatic restart of services is performed in a more flexible manner using Configure SQL Service Recovery.
