Automated Light Provisioning

Vince Gellár edited this page Mar 29, 2018 · 4 revisions

The system uses a full-spectrum led to provide light for the plants. The light provisioning is off during dark hours, so as not to disturb anyone.

How does it work?

The system estimates the light exposure of the plant from the light measured by it's sensor using linear estimation. If the system estimates that the plant's light exposure until the start of the dark hours will be insufficient givent the optimal values, it turns on the led to supply the missing light.

LED specifications

  • Voltage: 12V
  • Current: 0.9A
  • Wattage: 10W

The system was designed with theese values in mind. We recommend using a LED with the specified values.
